AGM and New Board Members

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held Sunday, Mar 25, 2018 after curling starting at 4:00pm at the Granite.  Our windup banquet will follow the meeting at approximately 5:00pm.

ELECTIONS

There are three positions on the board that will need to be filled at the AGM:

1) Website & Communications Director
2) Activities & Entertainment Director
3) Director at Large (we are especially interested in someone to take the lead on community relations)

Details of what each position might entail follows below. Please consider letting your name stand for nomination.  You can contact a board member or email the league at keystonecurling@outlook.com if you are interested in any of these positions.

BOARD DIRECTOR POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

1) Website & Communications Director

The Website & Communications Director is responsible for the league’s internal and external communications. They oversee or perform the following duties:

•    creates and maintains league website content (except draw schedule and scores which are the responsibility of the drawmaster/scorekeeper)
•    ensures website hosting and domain name fees are paid in a timely manner
•    maintains league email lists
•    sends out emails to members (e.g. weekly newsletter, other emails as needed)
•    administrates the league’s social media presence
•    issues press releases
•    promotes special events
•    schedules media interviews

2) Activities & Entertainment Director

The Activities & Entertainment Director is responsible for the league’s social activities and events. They oversee or perform the following duties:

•    Coordinate with the Granite and other venues to arrange space and menus
•    Organise the social events for the Bison Cup (e.g. banquet), including sponsors and raffles
•    Organise the annual league social

It is acknowledged that these duties are too extensive for one person to accomplish alone. The director may (should) delegate a lot of the required tasks to other directors and/or volunteers.

3) Director at Large (Community Engagement/Development)

In this position, you will network with community organizations both within the LGBT community and those who support us.

You will work with the other members of the board to support the priorities of the league and to ensure there is consistent messaging with our partners and engagement from their organizations.

You are a strong communicator and can work with businesses to ensure the financial success of the league. You will also ensure there is valuable opportunities to bring the league members and our friends and family to those who support us.

Through this networking you will help support the league goals to grow and promote curling within the LGBT community and the fun we have within the sport.
